Chess Board Game
Chess is a game that has been played by many civilizations for centuries and in many different forms. The game was popular with kings and even laymen.Chess movements can be an intimidating when you watch the experts playing. So, how can you become an expert chess player? Take a look at these basic chess moves and see if they can help you improve your game.
The Rooks Basic Strategic Moves:
Always considered a powerful unit, the rook can be used to finish an impending game if you know how to use it. The game begins with the rook being placed at the corner. The rook can be made the most productive when you can provide it to an open file. A set of squares is considered an open file, when the pawns can't block the movement of the rook. Rooks are considered more threatening and powerful on open files. This is because they acquire control over the middle and far reaches of the chessboard.
The Chess Moves of the Rooks are valued more than the knights. In this position, the knight can only move 4 squares. In such positions, a rook can still approach the king to attack or even capture a knight.
The Bishop basic strategy moves:
On the chessboard, the bishop only moves diagonally. Popularly known as 'The Saracen Camel', the bishop can move forward or backward. The movement of the bishop is in one direction at a time. While playing with the bishop, a principle should always be remembered- the pawns should not be fixed on the same color as your bishop. The bishop is always worth more than the knight. The movement of the bishop can dominate that of the knight in an open board.
The Queens Basic Strategy:
With a combination of the powers of both the rook and the bishop, a queen can move horizontally, vertically and diagonally. The Queen's gambit is one of the fastest opponent eliminations used in the world. It begins with the movement of pawns in front of the bishop and the queen. The queen is then free to either perform a 'check' or to capture other units.
The Pawn Movement Strategy:
Middle-game battles are always carried out with pawns. In many openings, chains of pawns are formed. Pawn chains can be used to eliminate important guarded units. The only disadvantage of pawn chains is that every movement creates a weakness. As pawns move forward, they can no longer control the squares they have left behind. Hence, deep calculative thought should be given before moving a pawn.
In chess, detailed knowledge of the Chess moves and how to play under certain given conditions play a crucial role in determining the game strategy to be followed. An efficient strategy acts as a guideline, ensuring a good game of chess. To become a better chess player, a player would need loads of experience with an experienced opponent.
